आरव मुंबई में रहता था और उसका बहुत बड़ा घर था। आरव के पिताजी एक बहुत बड़ी नामी कंपनी में काम करते थे और उनकी मोटी तनख्वाह थी। आरव की माँ एक फैशन डिज़ाइनर थी और उनके बनाये हुए लहंगे लाखों रुपयों में बिकते थे। आरव छठी कक्षा में पढ़ता था। उसका स्कूल शहर के सबसे जाने माने स्कूलों में से एक था। आरव स्कूल से घर पैदल ही आया करता था क्योंकि घर स्कूल से बहुत ही नज़दीक था। बीच में वो बर्गर भी खा लिया करता। एक बार क्या हुआ कि रास्ते में उसे एक दूसरे स्कूल का बच्चा मिला जो कि सरकारी स्कूल में पढ़ता था। उस बच्चे ने आरव से मदद माँगी और कहा कि उसकी परीक्षा आ रही हैं लेकिन उसके पास किताबें नहीं हैं। उस बच्चे का नाम दिवाकर था और वह पास के ही एक बस्ती का रहने वाला था। दिवाकर पढ़ने में तो बहुत होशियार था लेकिन आर्थिक तंगी के कारण उसे कई महीने स्कूल से दूर रहना पड़ता। जिस तरह उसने आरव से पैसे माँगे उसी तरह वो कई लोगों से पैसे माँगता और उन्हें जोड़ -जोड़ कर वो अपनी फीस चुकाता।

Aarav lived in Mumbai and had a gigantic (very big) house. Aarav’s father used to work in a prominent/renowned company, and he had a hefty salary. Aarav’s mother was a fashion designer, and her designed lehengas were sold for millions of rupees. Aarav studied in the sixth grade. His school was one of the most well-known schools in the city. Aarav used to come home from school on foot because his house was very near to the school. He also used to eat burger on the way. What happened once was that on the way he found a child of another school who studied in a government school. That child asked Aarav for help and said that his exams were approaching but he didn’t have books. That child’s name was Diwakar and he was from a nearby shelter home. Diwakar was very bright in academics, but due to financial problems, he would have to stay away from school for several months. Just as he asked for money from Aarav, in the same way, he would ask for money from many people and he would pay his fees by collecting them.
