Uday: Hey Ankita, did you know that 21st June is International yoga day?
Ankita: Yes, so I’ve heard. It is all over the social media. Everyone is suddenly a yoga expert. Celebrities have ditched cardio for yoga. It has got really hyped up in the past few years.
Uday: That’s true. We have so much to be proud of as Indians. Our culture is so rich and diverse. People respect that. Indian sages have been practicing yoga for thousands of years and now it has marked its presence almost every country in the world.
Ankita: But it can be very difficult to cultivate the habit of waking up early and doing yoga every day without fail. The life is quite stressful and we barely get time for any recreational activity.
Uday: I get what you are saying. But that is the real purpose of yoga, to reduce the stress of the daily life. It takes time to get into the habit but once you do it you will so much better. You will be more relaxed and at peace.
Ankita: Won’t I need a peaceful space for that? You know how difficult it can be to find peace in a home with three kids.
Uday: See, that is the reason why it is a smart thing to do yoga early in the morning. It is good for your mind and body, and on the plus side the kids would be sleeping then so you would not be disturbed.
Ankita: I see your point.
Uday: You don’t even need any equipment for this. You don’t even need to buy the yoga mat if you don’t want to.
Ankita: Won’t I need an instructor to guide me?
Uday: No. There are many apps that can help you, or you can watch videos and do it at home.
Ankita: Okay, then I’ll begin from tomorrow itself.
