In this English Conversation, Discussion About Watching news channels
Aayushi: It is so difficult to get the unbiased true reports of events these days. Media persons are not supposed to take sides. They simply have to report what is happening without giving their personal input.
Ratnesh: You are absolutely right. And it is more aggravating to see the kind of ridiculous graphics and sound-effects that they use. The local news channels are completely unbearable. I still prefer to read newspapers than watch news channels.
Aayushi: Yes. I stopped watching news channels quite a while ago. I resorted to the online media sources. But now I see that they are also not as honest and truthful as they should be.
Ratnesh: The best way left for us is to read and educate ourselves through multiple sources so that we do not form a biased opinion ourselves.
Aayushi: That would be the right thing to do. I used to follow this one online news website. But with time I noticed that they were only telling half-truths. They would write insensitive headlines which would be catchy and attract the attention of more people. They did not care how it would affect anyone.
Ratnesh: In this age, everything is about profit and loss. But then it is our responsibility, as the youth of the nation, to do what’s right. Nothing will change unless we take an initiative.
Aayushi: How can we do that?
Ratnesh: We can start by paying attention to only the trustworthy, unbiased media sources. We need to stop helping the rubbish ones.
Aayushi: Yes, but we both already do that. How is that going to change anything?
Ratnesh: It is good that we are aware. Now we need to use our experience and knowledge to educate those who are still obnoxious.
Aayushi: Yes. That would be the right thing to do.
